This pub was one of my frequent watering holes during WW2. As apprentices at F.Kidd & son, we used to call in have a couple of drinks and a game of darts after our shift. The landlord at the time was Dickie Donaldson and the present landlord is his great great nephew.09/03/2010 22:45:58

On the 1861 census my ancestors George Stephenson occupation Master Tailor and his wife Mary Ann were living at 3 Church Row. At the same address on the 1871 census Mary Ann is now a widow and her occupation is Inn Keeper. Could someone tell me if this address today is The Cattlemarket pub please?10/03/2010 19:40:37

In the 1882 Kelly's Directory No 3 Church Row was The Cattle Market Hotel and the manager was Thomas Idle.11/03/2010 20:41:53
